The Panton chair revolutionised modern furniture production. The instantly recognisable cantilevered silhouette is the creation of legendary Danish designer Verner Panton who, working in collaboration with Vitra, developed over many years and numerous models the world’s first chair to be manufactured from a single piece of plastic.
This is the latest version of the classic cantilever chair authorised by Verner Panton.
First designed together with Vitra in 1960 and originally made from fibreglass, this polypropylene version retains the revolutionary shape while exploiting the technical progress in plastics processing.
This model realised one of Panton's fundamental objectives for the first time: a plastic chair as an inexpensive industrial product.
Finished in Vitra's Classic Red, the Panton chairs are a recognisable piece of design history available to everyone, suitable for offices, homes and restaurants.
Ideal for indoor or outdoor use.
