First built for use on submarines in 1944, the Navy chairs have been in production ever since. This chair is created through a famous 77 step process which moulds welds and forms recycled aluminium into the chair you see today.
Wilton Dinges, who founded Emeco in 1944, compared the 1006 Navy Chair® to a Rodin Sculpture – a hand crafted piece of art. The chairs were first built for the US Navy in World War II. It takes 77 individual steps to make the 1006 Navy Chair®. It is guaranteed for Life. 100% Aluminium (80% recycled) with a hand brushed finish. Suitable for outdoor use.
